The first field campaign of the winter 2017-2018 was completed on 23-24th November 2017, with the participation of all the three partners. During the surveys on the rivers Mareit/Mareta and Ahr/Aurino, we collected topographic data, water velocity, water depth and substrate data and information about the mesohabitats. Simultaneously a detailed airborne mapping was performed, using UAVs, to collect RGB and hypersprectal imagery.
On Friday 13, Oct, the project partners met in Bozen/Bolzano.
During the meeting, the work and the outcomes of the first year of the project were discussed, and the field campaigns for the coming winter planned.
A second LIDAR flight will be conducted to measure the bathymetry of our case studies, and drones used to capture hyperspectral imagery of the reaches in the Mareit/Mareta and Ahr/Aurino rivers.

A second field survey to collect data for the MesoHABSIM was performed on the Mareit/Mareta River jointly by the project’s partners. A field trip to the Ahr/Aurino River allowed to discover an ideal spawning site for grayling (Thymallus thymallus)!
